Practical Reliability: Embedment to applications in product design

This course will cover the Development of an innovative methodology to embed design for reliability into the culture of the total organization via an integrated approach which focuses the risk mitigation efforts though the Reliability 9 step framework combined with NUDs risk management. this novel approach was awarded the ASQ 2024 Shainin Medal

The concept of the Reliability 9 Step + NUDs is simplified reliability embedment process or change management approach to drive increased quality and reliability through actions and the culture.  For any change to occur, there has to be several elements in place: the need for change, the desire to change and the roadmap for change.  I discuss a simple roadmap for change that covers the basics of a classical reliability program with the utilization of a physics of failure approach. This methodology has been applied in large and medium sized companies with positive results in improved reliability and quality.

Outcomes: understanding of design for reliability frameworks that can be modified for your organization.  Understanding of the linkages of requirements, allocation, DFMEA, test plans and risk assessment in product design.
